Hey, my name is CHRISTOPHER BRYAN SANDS III but everyone calls me TOPHER. Some people say I look like, ALEX GASKARTH, but I'm not sure I see it. I'm a GUY, duh, and I love GIRLS. I know I'm only 21, but I've seen a lot since OCTOBER 31, 1990. I am a BAND member of/for DANGEROUS SURRENDER. I've got a voice in my head that goes by MEGAN, and they're 26. I've had them for 5+ YEARS. They also bother NO ONE, or so I'm told. I love SOUR PATCH KIDS, COFFEE, COMIC BOOKS, KIDS, DRIVING FOUR WHEELERS, and totally hate CHOCOLATE, GREEN BEANS, DRUNKS, ABUSE, PUBLIC RESTROOMS. Most people say I'm OUTGOING, CAREFUL, INTROVERTED, INTELLIGENT, REASONABLE, but I think I'm just the SON of CHRISTOPHER BRYAN SANDS II (LAWYER) AND MARY-ELIZABETH ALLEN-SANDS (TEACHER). I am an ONLY CHILD. They think I'm crazy since I've got A TALL, SKINNY, VERY GANGLY BODY, and sometimes pretend not to know me. My past is pretty complicated, but if you're sure you want to hear it... Christopher Sands II and Mary Elizabeth Allen met in high school. They had that true sweetheart love since the day they met. They dated for many years, all though out college and ended up married not long after Chris graduated from law school. Mary graduated with a Master’s in Education. They found out a year later that they were pregnant with a baby boy…
Baby Christopher was born to Mary-Elizabeth Allen-Sands and Christopher Bryan Sands II late in the evening one the 31st of October. Being a Halloween baby, Christopher always had costume parties to celebrate the day of his birth. He always hated having his birthday on a holiday that so many other people celebrated. He got tired real fast of having to share his birthday with all the freaks. Then one year when he was around eleven years old; someone dressed up as Darth Maul from Star Wars and broke into his house late on Halloween night. This even scarred him for life. After the break in – with everything missing from their home and no one harmed, his family up and moved from their home in Vermont to a house in upstate New York.
Moving just made things harder on Christopher; he was never considered the most popular boy in school back home in Vermont, but he had friends. In New York he was known as the new skinny, geeky kid. So music was his escape. He learned how to play the drums in school – played in the marching band and even learned how to play bass and guitar for the church band. He basically taught himself how to play the bass. Growing up in church, he always had a certain belief in faith and freedom, but never really lived a life like Christ.
Once Christopher made it into high school, he became ‘Topher’ and started hanging out with people his Mom and Dad never approved of. These new friends got him into staying out late, sneaking out on school nights, getting drunk in the parking lot of the local park and many other things that God would never approve of either. He joined these guys in an indie rock band, practicing in a garage in the evenings, playing house parties and local festivals.
After graduation, Topher, with his mediocre grades, got into NYC on a half scholarship for Music Appreciation. The day after the ceremony he left his friends and family and moved into the city to attend classes and to find a part time job. He started work at this dive bar in the Bronx called ‘The Barking Spider’. He started out as a bus boy, but when the manager found out he sang and played drums, he got a promotion to the house band! He made some new friends (Drew, Blaise and Michael), but was pretty good at keeping a good name for himself and laying low.
Living in a fifth floor apartment two blocks from the bar and a train ride away from school was all that Topher could afford on his part time pay from the bar. He’s a very frugal teenager, always has been. If he wanted something, his parents didn’t get it for him, he had to earn it, even though his parents had money.
Omitted info about the band start up until Bobbie okay’s it with Em! (:
