Looks like sharing a tour bus can involve about as much drama as sharing a dorm room. Just because the members of the bands on tour may have missed out on the college experience doesn't mean they're entirely missing out on the fun things in life, right? And trust me, by fun things, we certainly don't mean to limit ourselves only to the things that are enjoyable. I've spent a few days mulling around the Dangerous Surrender bus and trailer, and let me just say, the members of this particular band make themselves scarce. Ten minutes after our first interview was supposed to start, the only person I could get ahold of was Annabelle Vankirk, the band's bombshell of a drummer. According to Vankirk, her friends had likely run off to get a late breakfast or were still in the bed. One member was enough to shed plenty of light on the situation in this band, though. Granted, my initial interview with Annabelle didn't give us a great deal of information, it wasn't very long before I had the opportunity to see her again. With Gossip Queen working hard to fuel the rumor mill, Miss Vankirk seemed to be more than a little frazzled when she asked to meet me for lunch. I'm sure you're all wondering if there's truth to the rumors you've been reading, and since Backstage Magazine prides itself on sharing only fact, I assure you, Gossip Queen is on to something. According to Annabelle, things between lead singers Abby Burke and Topher Sands are more than a little tense. When asked about the reason for this tension, Annabelle reveals, "I wish they'd just fuck and get it over with. They'd both be happier and everything would calm the fuck down." So, ladies and gentlemen, it looks like maybe their battle is more dangerous than their surrender.
